What to expect from "This Chick Writes"

Hi there!

You are one module closer from starting the most fun challenge EVER... This Chick Writes challenge!

So, what to expect during This Chick Writes Challenge?

Here are the modules for the first 5 days:

  • Day 1: the chick lit "formula" + setting the scene
  • Day 2: Plotting in 5 steps
  • Day 3: Finding your voice
  • Day 4: Fall in love with your characters
  • Day 5: Point of view and dialogues (+ a checklist)

During the first days of the challenge, you'll have access to gorgeous worksheets (including a word count calendar), that you can print out. You'll also be part of an amazing group of women writers (exclusive to participants in this course) to cheer for you, and to help you reach your word count.

"Word count??? How many words do I have to write???" ~ you must be asking yourself.

Here's the thing:

Why participate in a challenge if you don't push yourself a bit?

From the 6th day on, and for the following 7 weeks, I propose we set a goal of 50,000 words. That's an average of 893 words per day. Some days you're going to write much more than that! Other days you will write less. But I'm sure you can do it!

* If you think that's too much, feel free to set your own goal according to how much time you'll have to work on your manuscript. *

I'll be available on Facebook every day during the challenge and from the second week on, I'll have a Live once a week, so you can ask questions, and even ask for feedback on your work in progress.

So, before you move on the the pre-challenge task, I'd like you to think - realistically speaking - about how many hours a day you will have to dedicate to writing your book.

You may have to do a bit of trial and error at first, until you know how many words you can write a day, but don't worry too much about that now. Just make sure you set aside some time to write every day.

See you in the next lesson, for your pre-challenge task.

I got your back, girl!
